4th FU-KoreaNet Conference at Ewha Womans University in Seoul, South Korea
On 16–17 May 2016, a delegation from Freie Universität Berlin led by the Vice President, Prof. Brigitta Schütt, participated in the 4th FU-KoreaNet Conference at Ewha Womans University in Seoul, South Korea. The conference was conceived and conducted in collaboration with the Margherita von Brentano Center. The center was represented by Prof. Margreth Lünenborg (scientific director) and Heike Pantelmann. The conference was titled “Globalizing Gender and Gender Sensitivities in Universities.”
FU-KoreaNet is a consortium of Freie Universität Berlin and five high-ranking Korean universities (Ewha Womans University, Korea University, Seoul National University, Sogang University, and Yonsei University) under the leadership of Prof. Eun-Jeung Lee, Freie Universität Berlin, and Prof. Eun-Shil Kim, Ewha Womans University. The network’s conference this year examined topics of global importance, such as various approaches to gender and gender justice (in China, Korea, Mexico, and Germany). At the same time, the conference served as an opportunity to identify gender- and diversity-related objectives and strategies that can be implemented within FU-KoreaNet, particularly research and teaching collaborations.
Margherita von Brentano Center considers its collaboration with FU-KoreaNet to be a critical cornerstone of its international collaborations.
