Olga Hünler, PhD (summer term 2026)

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Olga Selin Hünler received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Middle East Technical University. After serving as an assistant professor at İzmir University of Economics between 2016 and 2019, she conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Bremen in Germany with the PSI Fellowship of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.

Stefany Cordero-Aliaga (summer term 2026)

Stefany Cordero-Aliaga is a PhD candidate in Education Sciences at the University of Granada, Spain, within the research line Curriculum, Organization, and Training for Equity in the Knowledge Society. Her doctoral research focuses on the integration of a gender perspective into initial teacher education. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a Master’s degree in Education, specializing in Curriculum and Administration.

Dr. Sagi Schäfer (summer term 2023 and winter term 2023/24)

Dr. Sagi Schäfer is an assistant professor of Modern German History at Tel Aviv University. He is also an activist against sexualized violence and other forms of power abuse, working, among others, within the framework of Academia for Equality (https://en.academia4equality.com/) and Netzwerk gegen Machtmissbrauch in der Wissenschaft (https://www.netzwerk-mawi.de/en/the-network). During the academic years 2022-3 and 2023-4 he will be based in Berlin and partake in the activities of the Margherita von Brentano Zentrum at the FU. In the fall semester 2023-4 he will teach a seminar based on the experiences of victims of Sexualized violence in academia.

Dr. Sagi Schaefer (summer term 2023 and winter term 2023/24)

Andrea Dip (summer term 2023 - winter term 2023/24)

Andrea Dip is a Brazilian investigative journalist who has been working with a focus on gender and human rights since 2001. She has received 16 journalism awards for human rights coverage. Currently living in Berlin, she is part of the IRGAC of the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation, a guest researcher at the LAI of the Freie Universität, and is director of the Agência Pública de Jornalismo Investigativo in Brazil. Dip researches the advance of Christian fundamentalism in Latin America, its effects on the rights of women and the LGBTQIA+ community, and the connections between religion, authoritarianism, and ultraconservatism.

Prof. Hülya Adak, PhD (visiting scholar since December 2021)

Prof. Dr. Hülya Adak is director of the Sabancı University's Center for Gender and Women's Studies (SU Gender) and visiting scholar at the MvBZ since December 2021. In her role as a kind of scholarly and cultural ambassador between the two universities she contributes to deepening the cooperation between the MvBZ and the SU Gender.

Tomasz Kitlinski, PhD (winter term 2021/22, summer term 2022 and winter term 2022/23)

Dr. Tomasz Kitlinski is an Academy in Exile and a New University in Exile fellow at the Freie Universität Berlin. He is a queerfeminist author, academic and activist. His interests include opposition to new authoritarianisms; artivism; feminist and LGBTQ theory and practice; political philosophy; questions of subjectivity and democratic intersubjectivity; Eastern Europe; Jewish studies; cosmopolitanism vs. nationalism; civil society; the humanities; and exile.

Ayşe Dayı, PhD (summer term 2019)

Dr. Ayşe Dayı is an Academy in Exile fellow at Freie Universität Berlin. Ayşe Dayı’s research, teaching and activist interests are in women’s health, health psychology, medical sociology, reproductive health rights, health services and policies, neoliberal globalization and health, transnational feminism, post-structural theory and qualitative methods.
