Tackling sexual harassment and violence in universities: seven lessons from the UK, 05.02.2021

In cooperation with the Margherita von Brentano Center, the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Baja California organized a three-part series of sessions on sexual harassment, discrimination and violence, in which academics, students and activists from Latin America, Africa and Europe discussed the issue.

In the third and final session of the series, Dr. Alison Phipps delivered a keynote entitled "Tackling sexual harassment and violence in universities: seven lessons from the UK." Alison Phipps, Professor of Gender Studies at the University of Sussex, has been active in the movement against sexual violence for fifteen years as a researcher and activist, and has conducted numerous studies on sexual harassment in higher education contexts in the UK. In her keynote speech, she presented 7 lessons she has learned over her many years as a researcher and activist in the field. The talk can be read on her blog gender, bodies, politics.
