Dr. Laura Volgger (she/her) is a doctoral researcher in Social and Political Sciences at the University of Innsbruck and a project researcher at the Center for Interdisciplinary Gender Research. Her research interests centre on feminist political theories of violence, feminist epistemology, regimes of silence, queer-feminist materialist approaches, and empirically based research on sexualized violence and silence. In her dissertation, she examines how lived experiences of sexualized violence and knowledge about it are normalized and rendered invisible through regimes of silence in heteronormative-patriarchal capitalist and bio_necropolitical state orders. She is part of the research project “Explorative Study on Sexualized Violence in Close Social Relations in South Tyrol” at the Center for Interdisciplinary Gender Research of University of Innsbruck.
