Academic Writing for Public Workshops
News vom 29.03.2023
Are you a PhD researcher or a Postdoctoral scholar looking to share your research with public audiences? Academic Writing for the Public is a set of two workshops geared to preparing PhD researchers and Postdocs who work on gender and sexuality to craft public-facing writing. The workshops are hosted by GENDER.ED, the cross-University hub for gender and sexuality studies at the University of Edinburgh. In two hands-on and interactive sessions of two hours each, selected participants will learn how to distil complex research ideas for wide audiences, share their research with an interdisciplinary cohort, learn how to pitch, and hone their own pieces, which will be considered for publication as part of the 'ECR Spotlight Series' on the GENDER.ED blog.
To apply please send a paragraph outlining your research on gender and sexuality along with a few lines about your professional qualifications, including disciplinary background, to Dr. Hemangini Gupta, Associate Director, GENDER.ED by April 7 at hemangini.gupta@ed.ac.uk. The workshops are on April 21 and May 5 from 10 am - 12 pm BST. Successful participants will be notified by April 9. Workshops are open to PhD researchers and Postdoctoral scholars at the University of Edinburgh, Freie Universitat Berlin, and University College Dublin.
