The DAAD funded project „Gender Equality in the Egytian Higher Education System“ that was carried out from 2012 to 2014 in cooperation of Freie Universität with partner universities in Alexandria, Cairo, Sohag and South Valley was now presented at the conference “Female Leadership and Higher Education Management in Developing Countries”. It was jointly presented by Dr. Jasmin Fouad from Faculty of Economics and Political Science (FEPS) at Cairo University and Heike Pantelmann of Margherita von Brentano Center at Freie Universität Berlin. The conference was organized in the framework of the “Dialogue on Innovative Higher Education Strategies” in cooperation between DAAD and Hochschulrektorenkonferenz (HRK) and took place on June 28-29, 2017 in Bonn. The aim was to identify barriers for gender equality in the higher educations context, to discuss good (and bad) practices and to derive recommendations for programme development on this highly relevant topic.
