MvBZ at the Indian Institute of Technology in Mumbai

In the context of the DAAD and UGC (Indian University Grants Commission) funded program „Indo-German Partnerships in Higher Education, the MvBZ started its cooperation with the renowned IIT Bombay. Cooperation partner at IIT is Prof. Dr. Parthasarathy from the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS). The first meeting of Heike Pantelmann (MvBZ) and Kathleen Heft (Toolbox Gender and Diversity in Teaching) under the theme “Gender and Diversity Competence in Higher Education” took place in Mumbai from October 9 to 13, 2017. An event of the German House of Research and Innovation in New Delhi in cooperation with Max Planck Gesellschaft was part of the meeting. The “Indo-German Dialogue on Gender & Diversity in Higher Education and Research” took place on October 11, 2017 in the Jal Vihar Guesthouse of IIT Bombay. The MvBZ and the colleagues from HSS plan to realize joint online tutorials on gender- and diversity-related topics, to deepen the discussion on diversity in higher education and to cooperate on the subject of sexual harassment and violence.
