From 27 March to 7 April 2017, Dr. Sabina García Peter, a staff member of the Margherita von Brentano Center, was a guest at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Humanities and Social Sciences (IAS) at Nanjing University, China, as part of the ERASMUS+ Staff Mobility for Teaching and Training program. The invitation came from Prof. He Chengzhou, co-director of the Johns Hopkins University-Nanjing University Center for Chinese and American Studies, director of the Chinese-Nordic Cultural Center, and co-director of the Nanjing-Brown Joint Program in Gender Studies and Humanities.

After her stay in Nanjing, Dr. García Peter took the opportunity to travel to Beijing, where she paid a visit to Beijing University coordinated by the Beijing Iffice. Together with Beate Rogler, director of the Beijing Office of Freie Universität, she was invited to a round-table discussion with members of the Women’s Studies Center. The aim of the meeting was to reactivate prior collaborations between the former Center for the Promotion of Women’s and Gender Studies at Freie Universität Berlin and the Women’s Studies Center at Beijing University.
