The transnational project “Perspectives and Discourses on Sexual Harassment in International Higher Education Contexts“ explores prevalence, manifestations and effects of sexual harassment in the higher education context and inquires structural implications. The project will be executed in three phases. In the first phase (winter semester 2017/18) the project schedules the preparation and execution of a survey to collect student perspectives on sexual harassment at the departments of Political and Social Sciences and Biology, Chemistry and Pharmacy at Freie Universität Berlin. Project partner at universities in Costa Rica, Mexico, Columbia, Peru, South Korea, Japan and India will execute respective surveys. In the context of internationalization of teaching joint seminars on the subject are planned for the winter semester 2018/19. The attending students are supposed to meet for an International Summer School in summer 2019. A proposal for further research will be developed in parallel. The first project meeting took place at Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica in San José in November 2017 with participants from universities in Costa Rica, South Korea and Freie Universität Berlin.
